Internship Information
The Internship Program for the Harlem Open Artist Studio Tour(HOAST) provides students with an opportunity to work with the artHARLEM staff and learn about the arts community that lives and works in Harlem. This also enables students to actively participate in community service, as they meet artists, curators and galleries who are actively involved in promoting the arts in their neighborhood.

The Internship Program enables us to support our program initiatives, develop new programs & expand current ones. Requirements for undergraduate students include a commitment of 10 hours per week, per semester. For graduate students and Summer interns, the time requirement is 15 hours per week, per semester, or Summer session. This is an unpaid internship, though school credit can be coordinated via participating academic programs.

Volunteer Information
artHARLEM's year round programming and its annual production of HOAST is made possible with the support of our volunteers, many of whom are artists and curators who also participate in the same programs they help to produce. This year, a painter who has her studio in East Harlem and an artist/curator who lives and works in Central Harlem have been working with our staff to coordinate Artist Get Togethers, a series of casual artist gatherings. They have also been assisting us with the production of a quarterly gallery guide that will soon be available to download from the artHARLEM website.

If you are interested in applying your experience and skills towards making HOAST and our year round programming possible, please let us know. We would love to hear from you.
