Vickie Fremont is an artist, designer and anthropologist with an abiding passion for the music and cultures of Africa. She has conducted workshops to teach African craft making techniques using recycled materials at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, the Bank Street School of Education, and the Dalton School. She organizes professional seminars and has lectured widely about the diffusion of African, African-American, and Caribbean and Latino material culture. Her Textile and jewelry designs were featured at the Smithsonian, the Museum for African Art and most recently the Bronx Museum.

  Vickie collaborated on the Exhibition “COLLECTION REMIXED”: “Threads and Vines highlights the personal style of three local Residents” On view February 3 – June 5, 2005: The Bronx Museum (New York)
