Laurie Elizabeth Talbot Hall has nurtured interests in both Art and Psychology throughout her life. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology and a Master of Fine Arts.   The content of her art work reflects her continued interest in intrapsychic events and the individual psyche's intersection with perceived reality.   Whether the work is a photograph, a large scale installation, or a small assemblage, the piece is constructed as a dream is constructed:   each component reflects a specific association that also makes reference to another broader reality.   The photograph pictured is from the series of tableau Talbot Hall constructed around photo-silkscreen prints of faux wallpaper.   The wallpaper metaphor communicates Talbot Hall's belief that cultural expectations of appropriate behavior are subtle and pervasive, surrounding us so completely that we are typically unaware of the full extent of their impact. The directorial approach asks the viewer to consider the scripted social environment.
