My current collection of collage-paintings reflect the relationship between one's past and present life. It is a visual exploration through images and text of the migration we habitually take as humans to what is familiar. The layering process itself illustrates the complexity of the past and it's subtle influence on identity as it applies to living in the present. I have selected images and narrative statements which are purposely designed to trigger memories. I want the viewer to walk away thinking of something from their past that may have been hidden or purposely not thought of in a while.
