I started painting five years ago because I craved something more in my life. I felt that through painting I could somehow give back something and make my life and work more meaningful.
I choose to paint the figure because I like that silent connection we all have between each other, good or bad. We all react to each other in some way. A glance isn’t something frozen, but an energy that is very much alive. I want to capture that visual moment or energy that speaks to us and provokes us by using the subject’s presence, composition and the gesture of my brush strokes.
