(LIFT) is a series of images that explores our perceptions of what we see, walk into,
live next to and otherwise experience on a daily basis. Using translucent materials to
create sculptures and site-specific installations that interact with surrounding light,
my work explores the psychology of space and transforms the mundane into visually
heightened environments. For this series of work, photographs are printed as color
transparencies and mounted on small blocks of Plexiglas to create a landscape of
ascending structures such as ladders, tree branches and clouds, silhouetted against
a blue sky.
